The small printPrivacy policy

Effective October 22, 2026

A little privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains how Kramer Concepts, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Misprint iPhone and iPad app and dailymisprint.com, including the browser game when available.

Misprint does not require a separate Misprint account. We do not use advertising or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell or rent personal information or share it for targeted advertising. The app and website offer usage analytics with controls described below. Playing Misprint does not require access to your location, contacts, camera, or microphone.

Puzzle progress on your device

The app saves puzzle progress, moves and undo history, hints used, completion records, and tutorial progress on your device. Statistics and streaks are calculated from completion records. Downloaded puzzles, appearance preferences, haptic settings, and any playtest feedback are also stored locally. These records let you resume playing and personalize the app; we do not receive your saved boards, answers, or full move history for analytics. Selected play statistics may be sent as described below.

iCloud sync in the app

When iCloud is available, the app uses Apple's CloudKit service to sync progress through your private iCloud database across your devices using the same iCloud account. This includes saved boards, move history, hints used, completion records, tutorial progress, and puzzle snapshots needed to reopen saved editions. An app-specific iCloud identifier is used to keep different iCloud accounts' saves separate on a device.

This progress is not placed in a public database or on our website's servers. We do not have access to browse your private iCloud saves through our developer console. Appearance preferences, haptic settings, and playtest feedback are not included in progress sync. Apple processes iCloud information under its Privacy Policy. You can still play with local saves when iCloud is unavailable.

Browser saves

The browser game uses local storage for puzzle progress, completion records, and cached free puzzles. These saves stay in that browser and do not sync with the app, iCloud, or other browsers. The policy page itself does not save puzzle progress. We do not use advertising cookies. Optional website analytics uses cookies only after you allow it.

Optional website analytics

If you choose Allow analytics, the website loads Google Analytics, connected to our Misprint Firebase project. It measures page visits, browser/device categories, referral sources, and events such as starting or completing a puzzle and following an App Store link. Puzzle events include the edition date and number, puzzle type, and completion swap and hint counts. They do not include your answers, board, move history, name, email address, or iCloud information. These event reports do not sync or back up your game.

Analytics is off until you allow it. Choosing No thanks does not affect playing or saving puzzles. Use Analytics choices in the footer to change your decision. We store your choice and a local event checklist to avoid counting the same puzzle repeatedly after a reload. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to distinguish browser visits; this site's cookies are configured to expire after 90 days without extending on each visit. Advertising storage, advertising personalization, and Google signals are disabled. Google receives technical connection information when analytics is enabled and processes it under Google's Privacy Policy. Our analytics events omit page query strings and URL fragments. Report totals can be incomplete when visitors decline analytics, block requests, clear browser data, or use multiple browsers.

Website hosting and puzzle downloads

Cloudflare hosts this website. When you visit it, or when the app downloads free daily editions, Cloudflare receives technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as your IP address, browser or app connection details, request time, and requested URLs. Puzzle requests include a calendar start date and number of editions; they do not upload your moves, answers, or saved progress.

Cloudflare may process connection and security logs to operate and protect its services. Its processing and retention are described in Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. We do not use these requests to build advertising profiles.

App usage analytics

The iPhone and iPad app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand puzzle difficulty, feature use, retention, and purchase conversion. Events include puzzle and collection identifiers, difficulty, starts and completions, time with an unfinished puzzle in the foreground, swap/hint/undo/restart counts, selected difficulty ratings, screen visits, and Plus offer and purchase outcomes. Google also processes an app-instance identifier, device and app information, technical connection information, and approximate location derived from network information. These reports are separate from your private iCloud progress.

You can turn off Share usage analytics in the app's Settings. Turning it off stops future analytics collection and resets the app's local Analytics data; it does not erase events already received by Google. Advertising ID support, vendor ID collection, advertising storage, and advertising personalization are disabled. We do not send names, email addresses, iCloud identifiers, saved boards, answers, full move history, or written playtest notes as custom analytics events. Google processes analytics under Google's Privacy Policy. Your analytics choice does not affect puzzles, hints, purchases, or progress saving.

Optional App Store purchases

If you choose to buy Misprint Plus when it is available, Apple handles payment through the App Store. The app uses Apple's StoreKit to check verified purchase information, including the product purchased and its entitlement or revocation status, to unlock or restore content. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple handles App Store account and payment information under its own privacy policy.

Sharing and feedback

Sharing a puzzle result is optional. When you choose to share, the app or browser provides the result to your device's share sheet, clipboard, or selected destination. That destination handles the information under its own policy. Written playtest notes stay on your device unless you choose to export and share them; an export includes your written notes and puzzle activity details. Selected ratings and structured responses may also be included in app analytics when enabled.

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you send. We use that information to respond and provide support. Include only information you want to share with us.

Retention and your choices

Local records remain until removed through your device or browser, subject to device backups and operating-system behavior. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes browser saves and cached puzzles. Deleting the app removes its local app data; offloading an app may preserve it.

Deleting the app does not automatically delete its iCloud data. You can manage Misprint's iCloud storage and access through your Apple account and device settings. If you remove cloud data, also remove local copies from devices that could sync it again. Apple controls retention of iCloud backups and purchase records.

We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to address your request, maintain necessary support records, or meet legal obligations. You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information you have sent directly to us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. We cannot retrieve browser-only records or browse your private iCloud saves to fulfill a request.

Service providers and security

Apple, Cloudflare, Google (for app and optional website analytics), and our email provider process information as needed to provide their respective services. Information may be processed outside your country under those providers' arrangements. We may disclose information we hold when required by law or to protect legal rights and the service. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle, but no storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Misprint has no in-game chat or public player profiles. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page and change the effective date above. If we introduce features that change how information is handled, we will update this policy and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.
